Nelson, 78, of 25 Rosemary Lane, West Alexandria and formerly of Lewisburg, died Tuesday, Sept. 12, at her home. Born Jan. 13, 1922, in Shady Grove, Tenn., she was the daughter of Felix G. and Elvira (Howard) Bonham. She had lived in Lewisville from 1951 to 1999. Mrs. Nelson was a member of the First Baptist Church of New Lebanon. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick J. "Fred" Nelson, in 1998; grandchildren, Matthew M. Nelson and Ricky Bowman, both in 1981, and Rebecca Lewis in 1998; brothers, Olla Bonham, Lloyd Bonham, Edgar Bonham and Vester Bonham; sisters, Susie Nance and Ella Alley. [SURVIVORS OMITTED] Funeral services were Saturday, Sept. 16, at Barnes Funeral Home-Lewisburg Chapel, with the Rev. James Whorton officiating. Burial was in Roselawn Cemetery, Lewisburg. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, to the First Baptist Church of New Lebanon, or to the Hospice of Middletown.
