"Hiawatha was born to Mr. William A. Clinton (b. Jan. 1, 1888, d. Dec. 26, 1939), and to Mrs Eva Arretta Harper Clinton (b. 1892, d. August 7, 1928), in Putnam Co, on May 5, 1918. He served in World War II and was stationed in London, England for most of that tour until he became shell shocked and returned home in 1946. He married Henrietta Pugh in 1944 in North Wales, England, during his tour in WWII. They had 5 children and were married until his passing on November 28, 1969. He had three brothers and one sister."
