Stonebraker" L'ANSE - Richard E. "The Tax Guy" Stonebraker, 66, of L'Anse, passed away Wednesday evening, March 11, 2009, at Bayside Village, L'Anse. He had been ill for several months. He was born in Lincoln, Neb. on Oct. 8, 1942, the son of the late Wilfred and Norell (Cockerill) Stonebraker. Richard graduated from Cleveland High School, received his bachelor of science degree from the University of Washington and his master's degree from Syracuse University, N.Y. [SURVIVORS OMITTED] Richard was employed by the Ojibwa Casino in 1992, serving in various positions, retiring in 2008 as a security officer. He was an avid sports fan of all kinds. A memorial service for Mr. Stonebraker will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 18, 2009, at the Reid Funeral Service and Chapel in L'Anse, with Fr. Augustin George officiating. The family will greet friends at the funeral chapel on Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. until time of the service. Following the service, the family invites friends to join them for fellowship and a luncheon in the Harrington Gathering Room, located at the funeral home. Mr. Stonebraker's obituary may also be viewed and condolences sent to the family at rfsc.net. The Reid Funeral Service and Chapel in L'Anse, has been entrusted with arrangements.
