This photo, which was taken at the MacDonell Plantation, in Lake Arthur, LA, in 1949, was found in an album that belonged to Anna Catherine Clark of Jennings, LA. In existence are two intimate letters (dated 1941) written by Flora McDonald to her aunt or great-aunt Kate (Catherine Anne "Katie" MacDonell Clark) and Gen (Genevieve Elizabeth "Gen" Clark McLane), probably her cousin. Flora was staying at MacDonell Plantation in Lake Arthur, LA, at the time. I believe she was an unmarried daughter or grand-daughter of one of John "Rice King" MacDonell and Catherine Anne "Katie" MacDonell Clark’s brothers (Alexander Angus, Daniel, Donald Archibald, Archibald Angus). In her letters, Flora mentions Ottumwa, IA, and Aunt "Lizzie" and Cousin Bella. As an adult, she may have lived in AZ or CA. We would appreciate any help identifying this individual.
