She was born March 5, 1938, in Mitchell County, daughter of Robert C and Helen Shupe French. She married Harry A. Smith on April 4, 1953; he died Feb. 15, 2008. Mary Lou worked in the J.C. Penney stock room, retiring in 2000 after 30 years. SURVIVORS OMITTED Preceded in death by: her parents; her husband; a brother, Michael; and a sister, Patricia.
