He married Eliza Warren on February 28, 1870. They came to America and located near La Platte, Nebraska, in 1882. He purchased a farm west of Springfield and lived there until 1906. His ten children at that time [were] all living but Albert E. who died March 10, 1914. Children: George W., Franklin R., Emma Louise of Springfield; James E. of Johnson City, Kansas; Frederick W. of Meriam, Nebraska; Edgar E. of Wyoming; Sidney W., of Emerson, Nebraska; LeRoy of Los Angeles, California; Archie B., of Council Bluffs, Iowa, and Albert E. [James Cockerill] had 21 grandchildren, six sisters, two brothers in England and one brother in Valley, Nebraska. He is buried in Springfield Cemetery, [Nebraska].
