She was born February 2, 1934, at Harts, a daughter of the late Isaac and Sarah Nelson. Shirley enjoyed gardening and spending time with her children and grandchildren. SURVIVORS OMITTED. Services will be held at 12 p.m., Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at Freeman Funeral Home, Chapmanville, W.Va., with Jimmy Carter officiating. Burial will follow at Toney Family Cemetery, Big Ugly, W.Va. He was born April 28, 1930 in Leet, WV a son of the late John and Murtha Toney. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Toney; one great- granddaughter, Melody Christian; three sisters, Viola Hughes, Willia Adkins, Reabel Toney; and seven brothers, Millard, Blutcher, Sidney, Bill, Lawerence, John, and Keenan. Pete was an avid hunter, he enjoyed spending time with children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed telling stories of the old days. SURVIVORS OMITTED. Born May 2, 1964, at Logan, WV, he was the son of the late Grant and Shirley Nelson Toney. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Brenda Frye. Terry was a West Virginia State Trooper, retiring after serving 20 years with the West Virginia State Police. He was a mason and a member of the Aracoma Lodge #99 A.F. & A.M. in Logan, WV. An avid outdoorsman, Terry enjoyed hunting and fishing, and he also loved to exercise and work out. He was a family man, so spending time with his family, especially his children, was top priority in his life. SURVIVORS OMITTED. He also leaves behind his brothers of the WVSP. Services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, November 5, 2022, at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel at Chapmanville, WV, with Michael Brooks officiating. Burial will follow in the Toney Family Cemetery at Big Ugly, WV. Pallbearers will be Carson Toney, Grant Maynard, Jarred Brewer, and brothers of the WVSP.
