Eugene was born in Pamplico. He was a truck driver for the past 50 years in New York and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. SURVIVORS OMITTED. Eugene is preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Flora Stone Hicks; two sons, Eugene and Anthony; three brothers, Julian, Joseph and Herman. A mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, August 15, 2005, in St. Anthony Roman Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the Hicks Cemetery in Coward, directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. A Christian wake service will be held at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
