George Clifford Smith, 74, former area resident, dies Wednesday at the Floyd County Hospital in Charles City.
Mr. Smith is survived by his wife Henrietta, to whom he was married on Dec 24, 1932, and two sons and five daughters: Earl of Hampton and Harry of Waterloo; Alice. (Mrs. Marvin) Lamb of Charles City, Sharon (Mrs. Richard) Frascht of Marblerock, Linda Hodge of Charles City, Marie (Mrs. Gary) of Craig, Colo., Judy (Mrs. Ted) Pitzenberger of Dougherty. Other survivors include a brother Galen Smith of Greene and two sisters Bernice Frazier of Charles City and Thelma Osborne of Yuma, Ariz., 23 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Services will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. from the Church of the Brethren in Greene with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held after 9:00 a.m. Friday at Reids Funeral Chapel, Greene and on Saturday at the Church of the Brethren from 9:00 a.m. until service time.
They had 7 children.
