McCroskey, age 84, of Sheffield-Monroe Road, went home to be with his Lord, Oct. 13, 2007, at Ashtabula County Medical Center. Jack was born Feb. 3,1923, in Wellford, W. Va., the son of the late George and Dessie (Bird) McCroskey. He had resided in Sheffield Township for over 50 years. Jack was a U.S. Army Veteran and served during World War II. Mr. McCroskey was employed by the former New York Central Railroad and Hercules Packing Corporation for several years, and retired from CW Ohio as security guard, after 15 years. He was a member of the Kelloggsville Church of the Nazarene, and in his leisure time enjoyed woodworking, gardening and especially being with his family. SURVIVORS OMITTED. He is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; a baby brother; three infant children; and one great-grandchild. Calling Hours will be held 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2007, at the Thompson-Smith Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Conneaut. Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2007, at the Funeral Home. The Rev. Jerry Webb, retired pastor of Kelloggsville Church of the Nazarene, will be officiating. Interment will follow at Gageville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family. Envelopes will be available at the Funeral Home.
